Daniel's Adoption April 3rd.
An Epiphany House family who's who:
Kathie and Dexter Lanctot, co-founders of Epiphany House Inc., are adoptive parents to Daniel Grishkin, 15 Sonty Lanctot, age 14, Suky Lanctot, age 12, Ebony Lanctot, age 9, and Salinna Lanctot, age 8. Foster children include twin boys Lyle and Kyle, age 9. April- May respite Jamir, age 9 (to comply with confidentiality requirements the names of some DHS foster children are changed in this publication). In addition, Kathie's six birth children: Dennis, Courtney, Kelly, Patrick, Danny and Kevin McCunney. Dennis' spouse Kathy and their daughters' Nora Catherine McCunney, age 4 and Anna Claire McCunney, 28 months. Also, there is Lauren Derrington, fiancée to Courtney; Jim Pio, fiancé to Kelly. Caralyn, Danny's girlfriend; Theresa, Kevin's girlfriend, Miss Deborah, Salinna's home nurse. Our pets include dogs pit bull Nellie; and Chihuahua, Tinker Bell; cat, Oliver; Bunnies, "Trixie" aka Bun-bun"; Two Turtles, a parakeet and some fish. We do frequent respite care for Kelly’s pooch, Molly. Family guest, Fredrica Gwyan.
April-May 2008
1 – April Fools. Danny April fooled by Carolyn at 2 AM. Dexter begins meeting with Episcopal Peace Fellowship representative regarding local gun violence and youth.
2 – A very busy day for Kathie; unrelenting needs. Mr. R. comes by and stays for hours. Suky plays Elton John "Don't Go Breakin My Heart" recording. Ebony and Jamir play together roller blades & scooter. Our pet birdie starts climbing through hoops in her cage.
3 – Daniel's Adoption day. Finalization at Media Courthouse. Formerly Daniel Grishkin Jeffers now Daniel Jacob Lanctot Grishkin.
4th – The 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Dennis and Kathy announce today that they are expecting their 3rd child in November.
6th – When our respite care child has a bad tantrum Ebony decides to call 911. Kathie assured 911 there was no need to come. 10 minutes later when police cars race past house on way to another call Ebony says, "You forgot to tell them the yellow house."
9th – Dexter sent on Craig's list transaction to pick up two Amish benches in Glenmoore.
18th – Ebony goes to see play, "Max and Ruby" with her school. Pope Benedict goes to United Nations.

19th – We are annoyed by neighbors playing very loud rap music only to learn it was not the neighbors but our own radio that our respite care guest, Jamir, had set up back by our garage. Daniel was in martial arts tournament today.
22nd – Ebony in her school concert tonight.
27th – A 'sweet nothing' text message,with a loving term of endearment, which Kevin intended for his girlfriend Theresa, was inadvertently sent to his brother Danny. Danny shares this information with Kelly's fiancé', Jim. Later, Jim, thinking himself to be funny, jokingly hollers that term of endearment to a car driver he thought was Kevin. It was not Kevin. Exponential embarrassment.
28th – Dexter paints the Amish benches.
May
3rd – Epiphany House Pancake Breakfast.
Corky's groomsmen give him a paint ball bachelor party.
5th – Kathie featured as Amazing Mom on CN8 "Your Morning"
7th – Ebony mimics Ruby's restaurant waitress logo while riding Amish scooter.

8th – Sonty inducted into Drexel Hill Middle School's Challengers honor society.
11th – Mother's Day!
16th – Danny's girlfriend comes from NYC by bus for a surprise visit with him.
17th – 40th Anniversary of the Catonsville Nine.
Lauren's bridal shower.
18th – Dexter travels to NYC with Danny and his girlfriend Caralyn. They intend to attend a friend's standup comedy routine at Gotham Comedy Club but traffic makes them too late. Times Square becomes plan B.
19th – Kathie loves Baja's and locates a prospect in Lancaster County.
22nd – We attend magic show at Beverly Hills M.S. Suky levitates.

26th – Memorial Day. We participate in Lansdowne 5K race.
30th – We trade in our Grand Caravan for a Subaru Baja. Now we can transport the Epiphany House ice cream cart and significantly increase gas mileage.
