Salinna Lanctot is on a special Adventure to raise pledges for the Salinna Snoezelen Room at Epiphany House. (Snoezelen room) This room will enhance Epiphany House outreach to special needs children. Learn Salinna's story and follow her Adventures here.
Salinna's Story
Hi! My name is Salinna Mary Lanctot. I am 9 years old. My birthday is July 3rd. My life with the Lanctot family began in foster placement, when I was two. In 2005, my adoption was finalized. I have 10 brothers and sisters. Because I have cerebral palsy, seizure disorder and limited vision, I need total care. I am very excited that The Make a Wish Foundation (MAW) has approved for me to have a special Snoezelen room filled with fun and stimulating sensory equipment. However, MAW does not cover room renovation, so I am on an adventure to raise pledges for renovations and to support Epiphany House Inc. mission to special needs kids. I look forward to spending some time with you and your family and for your pledge of support.
Love, Salinna

The Adventures:
Based on the Flat Stanley Concept a laminated Salinna travel photo is sent out to participants who pass her photo on to friends, family members, (anyone with whom you associate) who are willing to receive Salinna as a guest. These hosts to Salinna may let her spend a day, weekend, week (whatever they choose) while making a pledge of their choice to her cause. The hosts are asked to report in a special journal that accompanies the photo or directly to Epiphany House email, about how they spend their time with Salinna. Adventure stories, photos, video clips may be sent and will be posted on this page along with the progress of the pledges.

Salinna's adventures with Judy Tucker and family
On June 20th, we went to Let's Go Vertical rock climbing center, and she really got a kick out of watching us climb and repel. On the 4th of July she went to Pitman, NJ for a pool party. As you know, she loves the water. On July 23 my daughter took her for a tour of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC. Unfortunately, she did not meet any of our senators or representatives. Then in August, Salinna spent 2 weeks with us in Cape May, NJ. The weather was only so-so, but we managed to stay busy. She visited the lifeguards at the ocean on Aug.1st. On the 3rd, we all went to the Cape May Point lighthouse. There were too many steps for us, so we admired it from the outside. The next week on the 12th, we travelled to the Cape May Lewes Ferry and watched the ships come and go. We enjoyed waving to the passengers on deck. We also took a short stroll along the bay beach where a few people had their dogs and we got to pet them (the dogs, not the people.) Thanks for allowing us to borrow your sweet Salinna. She was incredibly well behaved.
As part of her summer adventure, Salinna came to Denver and the Eberlins took her to a Cubs game!
Here's Salinna in Denver at Coors Field.

Hello everyone,
Salinna joined us today in Lowell, Massachusetts, for a fun outdoor show of reptiles and snakes, sponsored by the Lowell Summer Music Series. There were LOTS of kids there, including my son Henry (age 4), daughter Ruby (age 4 months) and our friends Isabella (age 5) and Natalie (age 3). We saw a huge boa constrictor, a kimono dragon, a tarantula, and a 40-year-old giant tortoise, which we got to touch for ourselves! After the show, we rode a trolley through Lowell and looked at the old mill buildings and canals from the Merrimack River, which powered the textile factories before electricity was invented. It rained the rest of the day, and we had a playdate together inside our house – we had a wonderful day with you!!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Reidy, Henry Bolduc & Ruby BolducTyngsboro, MA

Salinna had a great time when she was in Seattle. She started off by going to see the Fremont Troll living under the Aurora Bridge. Although he has a Volkswagen Beetle in his hand, he is fairly harmless and always welcomes visitors.
Next, she took a ride down to Pike Place Market, one of the oldest public farmers market in the country. It has continually operated for over 100 years. There, she was able to see the famous Pike Place Fish Market, where the fishmongers through salmon back and forth to each other.
From there, she took a short ride over to Seattle’s Space Needle. The Space Needle was built in 1962 for the World’s Fair. While not the tallest needle tower in the world, it definitely captures best the spirit of its time. Originally, it had two spinning restaurants at the top, now combined into one, from which visitors can see not only the Seattle skyline, but also the Olympic Mountains to the west and the Cascades to the east.
Not far from the Space Needle is the Experience Music Project. Designed by the architect Frank Gehry, this interactive museum was built by Paul Allen, a co-founder of Microsoft, to house his extensive collection of rock and roll memorabilia. It has a special section dedicated solely to Pacific Northwest music, and specifically Jimi Hendrix. While here, Salinna was able to channel Jimi’s spirit while rocking out the air guitar to Purple Haze.
She ended her day by visiting Kerry Park. Overlooking downtown, the park is located on a steep hill in the Queen Anne neighborhood. From here, she was able to see the sun setting over the Puget Sound and illuminating the west face of the 14,400’ tall Mt Rainier volcano, 50 miles to the
south.
Salinna travels to Annapolis.
Salinna goes to a Reading Phillies Game.
Salinna traveled with Karen White and family in Hawaii and then on to Phoenix, Arizona from June 2nd through June 15th

Salinna's Headed to Hollywood.

June 8th... Salinna's Adventure has really taken off. Reports are starting to come in about her travels. They are intriguing, to say the least. Besides, camping and going to Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster County, PA she has traveled to Disney World and is off to Hollywood, California to attend a wedding on the set of Seinfeld. Another filing indicates there have been 5 spin off lines from her Uncle Mike in Maryland. That means in addition to the original 20 lines there are 5 new ones that have embraced Salinna's Adventures. One of these lines has Salinna headed for a sailing cruise. We can't wait to get the scoop on these latest adventures. Check in regularly for updates. If you wish to be included as an adventure participant contact us at epiphanyhouse@comcast.net or call 610 626-3744.
Hey, can you spot Salinna at the Disney Castle?
Pledge returns from Salinna's Adventure are starting to come in. Salinna's goal for the summer is $50,000 for the Salinna Snoezelen Room. (Snoezelen or controlled multisensory stimulation is used for people with disabilities, and involves exposing them to a soothing and stimulating environment, the "snoezelen room"). |

| May 25th... By this date Salinna travel photos with journals have gone out to 20 pre-selected enthusiastic individuals across the country who are launching the project. They will begin passing Salinna along to others who want to join the fun. By Labor Day we expect thousands of new folk will have been introduced to Salinna and be supporting Salinna's Epiphany House project. Salinna has already travelled to Seattle Wa, Baltimore Md, Portland Oregon, Long Island, Dayton, Ohio, and all around the Philadelphia region. Early reports have had her camping, biking, going to amusement parks, and socializing with wild types. |
