HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Advent Children:

In the Christian tradition, the season of advent has begun. Advent for Christian's has a theme of hopeful waiting for the coming of Christ in glory. It is a waiting that anticipates the full establishment of the Kingdom of God where suffering and death will no longer exist.

Hopeful waiting is a theme to which many children in our region can connect. Hundreds of children in the Philadelphia region are waiting, with hope, for a family. They hope, that before too long, there will be a families who will assure them forever, loving, safe and stable homes.

Below is one such child. Her name is Ebony. Here's some suggestions about how you might help Ebony. Make it a special, personal goal this advent and Christmas season to find a home for Ebony. Print out her picture and bio. Take a moment each day to lift this child, and the other waiting children like her, in prayer. Print up and distribute some fliers. Let your kids bring them to their schools. Take her photo to holiday parties and gatherings. Bring her to the attention of friends, co-workers, or members of your church congregation.

Throughout this season make use of the many opportunities to "network" on behalf of Ebony. Tell her story. The more folks who here about Ebony, in such a personal way, will increase her chances of finding her forever family. It could be her greatest Christmas gift and you could be the one who makes it happen. Wow! If she got a family because of you, wouldn't that be a Christmas miracle you would never forget? Imagine, you could be the one to bring this child's waiting to a very happy conclusion.

Ebony

Ebony, born August 30th 2005, is a sweet, happy and affectionate little girl who needs a nurturing family to encourage the progress she continues to make. Ebony needs time to complete developmental tasks but once she catches on she “hits the ground running!” She loves her “bath time” and is Elmo’s number one fan.

If you would like to open your heart and home to Ebony, please call the National Adoption Center at
(215) 735-9988 and ask for the “PhillyKids Connection.”
