Daniel's Baptism:

We are very happy to announce that our foster son, Daniel Jeffers, was baptized at a joyous Easter Service at Christ Church in Old City Philadelphia on Easter morning. We are grateful to Rev. Susan Richardson for preparing Daniel for this step in his life. We commend all those who contributed in the planning of the lovely and uplifting Easter celebration. We are also are happy to learn that Daniel's foster care goal is now adoption and his 'case' has moved to adoption department at DHS. It should not be long now before Daniel's adoption into our family is completed.

Majority Of Parents Abuse Children, Children Report
April 13, 2007 | Issue 43•15

LOS ANGELES—A chilling national poll of U.S. children ages 3 through 12 estimated that nearly 75 million youngsters suffer both physical and psychological abuse at the hands of their parents on a daily basis.

child"My parents always tell me that I have to finish all my math homework or I won't be allowed to watch TV," said study participant and abuse victim "Derek," 10, who told researchers that some of his earliest memories were of this kind of mistreatment. "They're so mean. I hate them."

An abused child awaits her single allotted hour of television per day.

Celebrating Foster/Adoptive Families in 2007:
Foster Families

Epiphany House is committing to a bold initiative in 2007. Our goal is to find five new families in our local region who will become adoptive families to Pennsylvania waiting children.

During the year Epiphany House will be honoring current adoptive families with a view to inspiring others to consider becoming foster/adoptive families.  Throughout the region we will work with local churches and community organizations to identify and honor families in those communities who are foster/adoptive parents.

There are many problems in our world such as war, global warming, rampant poverty, genocide, diseases, and hunger, about which we often feel completely poweless to make a difference. These are problems of such overwhelming dimensions we can barely grasp them. There is, however, something we can do in which we can make a difference. We can positively impact the future for untold generations. It is by working to assure no child is left without a loving stable family.

In the Hebrew Christian traditions, there is a deep awareness that God has freely adopted us and made us his children. The covenant is one based on this adoption. We at Epiphany House believe that God has provided a family for every waiting child. Many of these families just don't know who they are yet.

How about your family? If you are the recipient of much blessing from God, then you must ask how is God inviting you to put those blessings to the service of others. Some of you have the grace and ability to be the adoptive families that are needed. Have you ever asked yourself if you might be one of those families? Perhaps you are not called to be the adoptive family but you may have the talent, abilitiy or resources to help find an adoptive family.

If you want to get involved in something where you will make a difference, look no further. You are in the right place! Check out the info below and give us a call.
