An Epiphany House family who's who:
Kathie and Dexter Lanctot, co-founders of Epiphany House Inc. are adoptive parents to Sonty Lanctot age 11, Suky Lanctot age 9, and Ebony Lanctot age 7, Salinna Lanctot 6 (formerly known as Angelica). Foster children include twin boys Lyle and Kyle age 8. Daniel, 13 and long term respite placement Joshua Taylor, 12. (to comply with confidentiality requirements the names of our DHS foster children are changed in this publication). In addition, Dennis, Courtney, Kelly, Patrick, Danny and Kevin McCunney; Kathie's six birth children. Dennis' spouse Kathy and their daughters, Nora Catherine McCunney age 3 and Anna Claire McCunney 1 month. Also, Lauren Derrington, fiance to Courtney; Rachel Barrett, girlfriend of Patrick. Jim Pio boyfriend to Kelly. Miss Marie and Miss Laura Salinna's home nurses. Our pets include dog, Molly; cat, Oliver; Bunny, Milkshake; Parakeet, Repete, a Turtle, fish and lizard.October:

1...Sonty recently got a pet lizard. He got it while on a school field trip to the Renaissance Faire. Today Molly attacks the lizard. The lizard breathed fire singing Molly's nose. Rainy morning turns to sunny afternoon and we stop at Head House Square following church. We meet Jeff and Donna of Aurorae Visions. www.auroraevisions.com

2...Shocking news this afternoon about shootings at Amish school in Lancaster County. Today is feast of the Guardian angels.

3...A woman who was in the Amish school house and survived the shootings speaks about how she felt the presence of angels in the school room as the terror unfolded.
Joshua and Daniel help mow and rake lawn.
Epiphany House Board met tonight. We look to become more locally involved in outreach. Feast of Epiphany in January set for an Epiphany Open House day.

4...Feast of St. Francis of Asissi. Longtime Lanctot family friend, Vic Meszaros dies. Suky and Daniel are enrolled in Karate.

5...Salinna has to be admitted to Children's Hospital. Dexter with her there late into the night. Kathie bakes cupcakes for school open house.

8...Eagles beat Dallas.

10...Sonty wants room of his own. That won't be anytime soon. Daniel can't find a sock, Suky's school photos today. Kathie gets curling iron to do Suky's hair. Ebony is recalling the day of grandpa's funeral and the luncheon. Epiphany House board member introduces Dexter to TortElvis Sings the Classics. Daniel bounces on a pogo stick.

11...Cory Lidell's plane crashes into NYC apartment building.

12...Daniel can't find his shoes. Kathie, Dexter and Kathie's mom visit More Than Conquerors' founder Karen White in Langhorne. Karen's organization donated $10,000 to Epiphany House this past summer.

Sonty played defense in his football game at Drexel Hill Middle School. He makes tackles and recovers a fumble. Joshua and Daniel go out to sell raffle tickets for Epiphany Sports raffle. They sell one. Wonder what it would be like if they played defense for their school football team?

14...Dexter away for the weekend at Malvern retreat house. Grand daughter Nora visits for an overnight. Ebony barfs all night.

15...Kathie and kids take Nora back to Baltimore and get stuck in 10 mile traffic jams to and from on route 95.

What we try for at Epiphany House.

17...Baby Anna Claire born at 6:00AM, 1hr and 45 minutes before the 300 000 000 American. Anna you're one in three hundred million. Three young men from Helsinki Finland are staying as guests. They are on tour with their choir Cantores Minores. They went to Lancaster County to see the Amish. Because of all the rain, they saw only one. Daniel fascinated with Chinese symbols. He is making a collection of them from the internet.

18...Daddy, Suky, Ebony sell sports raffle tickets at local grocery store. Cantores Minores (C.M.)choir performs at St Patrick's Church in Philadelphia.

19...Kathie sends off our C.M. guests with a hearty breakfast. They go to New York City for the weekend. Suky sings with chorus in concert at her school.

21...Dexter officiates 3 weddings today.

22...Daddy, Ebony and Sonty drive to Dennis and Kathy's for visit with family and to meet baby Anna. Along the way, long traffic jam, flat tire and the Eagles lose to Tampa on a 62 yard Tampa field goal. While at Dennis and Kathy's, Daddy falls off the barstool during Chinese food dinner.

26...Daddy is a chaperone on Suky's class trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. At night family watches DVD movie "Akeelah and the Bee."

27...Kids go to various Halloween dances.

28...Danny's 23rd birthday.

Sonty and the Philadelphia Boys' Choir meet First Lady, Laura Bush.

At night, Dexter goes to a University of Penn frat Halloween party trying to sell Epphany House sports raffle tickets. Because the second and third prizes were Penn football and basketball tickets, it seemed like a good prospect. It's not till after a half hour, and no sales, that someone informs Dexter that Penn students get into the game free. This is why Epiphany House needs a good fund raising committee. Any volunteers????

30...We make gravestones for Halloween.
