An Epiphany House family who's who:
Kathie and Dexter Lanctot, co-founders of Epiphany House Inc., are adoptive parents to Sonty Lanctot, age 14, Suky Lanctot, age 12, Ebony Lanctot, age 9, and Salinna Lanctot, age 8. Foster children include twin boys Lyle and Kyle, age 9. Daniel, 15 (to comply with confidentiality requirements the names of some DHS foster children are changed in this publication). In addition, Kathie's six birth children: Dennis, Courtney, Kelly, Patrick, Danny and Kevin McCunney. Dennis' spouse Kathy and their daughters' Nora Catherine McCunney, age 4 and Anna Claire McCunney, 28 months. Also, there is Lauren Derrington, fiancée to Courtney; Jim Pio, fiancé to Kelly. Carolyn, Danny's girlfriend; Theresa, Kevin's girlfriend, Miss Deborah, Salinna's home nurse. Our pets include dogs pit bull Nellie; and chiuaua,Tinker Bell; cat, Oliver; Bunnies,"Trixie" aka Bun-bun" and Gizmo; Two Turtles, and some fish. We do frequent respite care for Kelly’s pooch, Molly. Our intern is, Fredrica Gwyan.
FEBRUARY
6th – Ash Wednesday. We begin Lenten observance as family.
7th – Kathie goes with Kevin to Philadelphia Car Show.
9th – Sonty retired from the Philadelphia Boy’s Choir today. Due to his changing voice he cannot continue with choir. He looks forward to trying out for the chorale once his voice has “settled.” Corky and Lauren visit for weekend and discuss wedding plans.

13th – Ice storm makes for 2 hour late opening for schools. Some falls from this storm. Nellie pulls Danny down back porch steps when he takes her for walk. Dexter slides down front steps and lands on his butt when he is taking Salinna, in her wheel chair, to the school bus.
14th – Valentine’s day. Ebony wants the cupcakes that Kathie bakes for her class to be the color of Suky’s skin.
15th – Danny buys a desk at Ikea and Suky helps him put it together.
17th – Suky spends much time today writing about an amazing wizard and warlock dream. 500 Rummy becoming a favorite family game.
20th – Suky’s 12th Birthday. Suky’s special day aligns with an Alberta Clipper, the Snow Moon and lunar eclipse. A magical day for a magical kid!!!
22nd – Suky and her dad go to movies to see The Spiderwick Chronicles. Daniel gets his team uniform for martial arts.
24th – Fredrica's 17th birthday dinner. 80th Oscars.
25th – Danny begins orientation at Fair Acres nursing home where he is working as intern in communications. One elderly female resident, taking a liking to him, suggests a place where he can park his shoes anytime.
29th – Leap Day. Kathie and Dexter go to Philadelphia Free Library to hear presentation by author Ann Lamott. They were unable to get in because of oveflow crowd. As a consolation they get a Caramel Tea Latte at Borders' Book store.
MARCH
1st – Dexter, Suky, classmates of hers, Daniel and Tinker Bell take a two hour hike at John Heinz National Wildlife Preserve in Tinicum. They spot several herds of deer.
3rd – Our cat, Oliver, has started a very bad habit of "marking territory" in the second floor bathroom. Catholic Saint Katherine Drexel feast. We recall her significance in choosing to give up a life of wealth and privilege by founding the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament to serve underpriveleged Afro and Native Americans.
5th – Kevin begins flight school.

6th – Dexter turns 59. Kathie thought he was 60.
8th – Sonty's 14th birthday.
9th – Daylight saving time begins. We attend St. Patrick's Day parade. Ebony says, "Daddy's cheeks get rosey when he gets mad."
12th – Suky reading Cirque Du Freak book series.
14th – Natonal Pi Day. 3.14
Salinna brings home Easter basket and plush toy bunny from her school. She and the rest of kids begin Spring break.
15th – Beware!
Dexter, Suky and friends go to Philadelphia Museum of Art.
16th – Ebony called Kelly on cell phone at 1:00 AM. Kelly and Jim and their friends were at a local pub for St. Patrick's. Ebony was on phone 35 minutes with all of them as the phone got passed around the bar.
18th – Daniel volunteers with Building with Books to do house painting.
20th – Spring.

21st – Good Friday. Uncle Larry comes over and cooks fish fry dinner for family.

Epiphany House welcomes transitional respite care placement, Jamir age 9. Jamir temporarily with us until transition to new placement. (Name changed due to foster regulations)
22nd – Sonty backs our car into Kevin's car. So Ebony, you think Daddy's cheeks get rosey? You ain't seen nothin!!!! Family attends Easter Vigil mass at St. Malachy's.
23rd – Easter. Bunny hides basket clues all around the neighborhood at 3AM and nearly freezes his bunny tail off. Family gathering including Grandmom for Easter dinner.
29th – Kevin's 23rd birthday. Salinna, Suky, Jamir, Tinker bell go to Cheng's Martial Arts open house. Daniel in demonstration. Salinna enjoys getting on large bouncy ball.
31st – Kathie's ?? birthday. Dexter thinks she is 39.
